warning: MONSTERS

Happy Halloween almost!

We had a Family Home Evening activity the other night where we created monster face parts and then the craziest thing happened! A bunch of stuff in our house turned into monsters! But by now we've gotten used to our housemates.

We try to make them feel at home by pulling the same faces as they do.

Garbage Can Monster. Very useful guy but you can imagine his breath at times.

Lamp monster. Can be a hot-head. I think we turn him off.

China Cabinet Monster. Definitely a "pane". Tries to act nice but we can see right through him. Fernando wins the prize for making a monster feel at home through face similarity.

Clock Monster. I can't figure out what makes him tick, so I think it's about time he left.

Drool Monster. Takes everything out of droors and cupboards. Is getting 4 or more top teeth all in one week. Is not conducive to sleep. But he's pretty cute so I guess we'll keep one monster.

a fun outing

We had a REALLY fun outing a while ago...

Grandma Cynthia and Pa watched babies Miniman and Woocas so we could join a lot of our extended family (thanks A&B family for having connections for us to purchase tickets!). Yes we took a 5 and 3 year old with us. It was SO fun and worth it! Here's the inlawsees on my side (one of whom has now joined the family and another has changed last names). Yes they are crazy. That's how we like it.

Sammy loved it. Loved it, and has been singing the songs and thinking about Lion King at night when he falls asleep. He liked the part where Scar gets killed the best. Violent yes, satisfying yes.
Miranda liked lots of parts but was the most excited to see the actress who played young Nala afterward...I towed the kids across the street and down a half block so we could tell her she did a wonderful job (she was our favorite one, really) and the kids could stand there, dumbfounded in her presence. She was so sweet to our kids. She must have a good family.

We had lots of fun. It definitely was a special occasion for the Seminario family and we loved it.

made me miss you guys

I heard my kids talk to my inlaws the other day on the phone. It made me miss them. Inlaws I mean. I miss them all the time but even extra sometimes.

I mean look at this:

And these crazy guys...

letting this crazy girl attack them...

really attack

someone who can always laugh even if she just got through crying, and who understands what it is like to have all brothers...

someone who always stays young even though she gets older...

A little playful cute kid cousin and her bigger playful cute kid dad

and cute mommy giving us more cousins! Yipee! And who always has extra love to give to her niece and nephews.

Someone willing to join our crazy family even though and BECAUSE she knows us so well! and give us a fun wedding to go to!!! (and a wonderful new person to be with us forever!)

And a guy who can help Sam the man not to be homesick by taking him to the mailbox every day, to pick oranges from the tree, and take out the recycling.

A grandpa who can keep up with anybody and can also calm down a fussy infant like magic (I still wish for him to come and calm miniman during his fussiest moments!) He has passed down the gift to my husband of being able to easily accomplish things that are very hard for me.

AND not only the best meat maker in the US and CANADA,

but also one of the most willing helpers (with any project) you could ever ask for

This is everybody (besides bro in law grilling above, future sis in law and I) with some wonderful friends and former elementary school teachers/mentors. Amazing ladies. The impact of a good teacher! Such a nice shot of the inlaws too.

Tia-to-be helping Fernando give Miniman a haircut. Or a mullet-removal I guess.

Not an easy task. Poor miniman.

And just to get in the spirit of the spooky season...

With a lady who kept them busy with art and storytime and big kid responsibilities and inside jokes and healthy food and carnivals and even learning Spanish songs and dances. Amazing.

I'm so lucky to be as part of this family! And I feel SO happy for my kids. It's nice to know Heavenly Father gives our children (HIS children) people constant in their lives who have strengths and talents different than their mom's. These people help and will help our chilren have such wonderful, wonderful lives.
