back to normal
I needed a good bridge between the last eyesore of Napoleon and Pedro back to my normal mommish posts. So this will have to do. Hubby on ugly sweater day for the faculty and staff at Paradigm. He did get a prize for this beaut, of course. I think maybe he should pull it out again for our Valentine's Day date because it has hearts. And I will wear my Napoleon pants. We'll turn heads as USUAL.

keep up the habit
It felt right to re-enter this practice of blogging practice yesterday so I decided I better try to continue so I can try to make a good habit out of it.
I was dutifully about to begin a post when Miniman attacked the computer (Ferni and I think he actually said "puter" yesterday...it's a new generation people) and started going beserk with joy over some random dog in a picture on someone else's blog.

So then I had to spend the last 15 minutes showing him barking dogs on youtube. Those are the type of 15 minutes I omit when Fernando asks me what I did today.
But it does make me a little sad that our children are so dog-deprived that they have to watch them bark on youtube. Oh well. Maybe someday. After I get my chickens. I really want chickens and I bet they could be sort of fun like dogs, right?
So I was starting to post again when Mimi came in here. She had just finished watching High School Musical because during our exercise time today she got a sliver in her heel that I could not extract because I'm not a dad. Makes sense.
Naturally we had to cancel the rest of exercise time AND science time which is her favorite (obviously a serious sliver). During the endish of the movie she came in here with a choked-up expression on her face and told me that she just started bawling during that last scene and she doesn't know why. I told her she's not allowed to watch High School Musical anymore.
Then she rephrased herself and told me she didn't bawl she just had tears in her eyes. What a relief.
And to make sure to include all children here, yesterday Fernando told Sammo that the sauce (red glaze stuff) that he put on the strawberries was actually a mixture of whale blood and monkey brains. Well I added the monkey brains.
Disgusting I know.
Anyway Sam WOULD NOT eat it. Even after Daddy said he was kidding. When forced to taste it he gagged. The power of suggestion. Although that red glaze is a gory shade of red.
And here is just another shot of el chubbo for Gramma Rosie. And because a baby wearing a Peruvian hat with a fish sticker on it is a GREAT way to end a post I think.

hubby reads chapter books
First of all let me thank the few of you who still care enough to check this blog once a quarter, and since I've recently been made aware that you are still there, and since I still have so many wonderful things to blog about, we're back. Thanks for the patience. And now...

This is Junie B. Jones. Some of you probably already know her. She kills us! I should warn you that she does say "stupid dumb" sometimes so we had to talk about how WE don't say that and now we can laugh and shake our heads at her indiscretion. I thought I did a GREAT job reading her voice and bringing her stories to life. Until I heard my hubby read her to Mimi. Dwarfed me. I laughed out loud at least 11 times because of his inflections, and that was just in one chapter. One of his best words read aloud from Junie B. was "Ta-da." It had ringing vibrato.
I could punch that series in the nose at times. However, it is SO fascinating and definitley comes up in conversation. In fact TODAY I compared the forced intermingling of Repubs and Demos at tonight's State of the Union to something Capitolesque. So it's infiltrated my thinking for good...although hubby and I agreed that the writer may have eaten something upsetting before sitting down to write.
Anyway, I think FerManDo started out extremely cool and popular before he hitched himself to me. Now he's geekifying bit by beautiful bit. I can't really take credit for that but I will definitely take it!

He's good at reading aloud, though he'd probably refute it. We've read quite a few things aloud together. He almost always is the voice because if I read aloud, he falls asleep. And if he reads aloud I fall asleep... less. So it's our best option really. I don't know how I ever enjoyed reading alone.
That's a bit of an exaggeration. I still can enjoy reading alone but it is SO fun to read together. This just turned into a nerd post I realize.
We recently finished reading

Zoobies
It's been a good couple of weeks for the Cougs so I guess it is a good time for me to post these great pics of my True Blue hubby a few weeks ago at the game with the kids. We were happy it stopped raining even though some of us were already soaked to the bone. My favorite thing was Sammy keeping a lookout for Cos-i-mo the whole time. I really like these people.

leafing
Most of the time being a baby seems pretty frustrating from my viewpoint. You can't change yourself when you need to, feed yourself when you're hungry, communicate your thoughts and feelings, walk, and a bunch of other convenient stuff.
But OTHER times this little squish makes being a baby look really really fun.
